I don't actually have a team, as I am a solopreneur running a start-up business on a shoestring, not yet ready for a virtual assistant, who will be my first team member.
However, based on what I've learned over the years and having worked for large and small corporations half a lifetime ago, the single most important ingredient is attracting people who can wholeheartedly support your mission and vision. That is, they would have to be like-minded.
The next most important ingredient, almost as important as the first, is a corporate culture that encourages and fosters cooperation over competition.
The most important ingredient in building a great team is outstanding people with integrity, drive, and motivation. But, once you find them the most important ingredient is open honest communication used to earn respect, build trust, catch yourselves doing things right, learn all you can from every mistake, and agree upon how you are going to continue to improve.
Leadership and leading by example. Also being fully aware of the different personality types and where people are at personally & professionally in their life on their journey.
Building a great team is a huge part of any business. When I worked in an insurance office for 13 years we had a great team. I think it was because we genuinely cared about each other. Humor definitely helps, looking to support and build each other up and leaving room for mistakes.

Trust and respect is very important,
Everyone must be respectful.
The most important factor in building a great team is for the team to buy in to the purpose of the organization and what they are called to achieve.
Honesty and integrity
THE LEADER WITHOUT THE MASK IN FRONT OF THE LINE....AND IN BACK OF THE WEAKEST TEAM MEMBER TO LEAD OUT AND SHOW HOW!

A leader clear on where the team is going and open communication with all on the team
